The Anthropocene

The Anthropocene, from anthropo = human and cene = new [geological age], is a term coined by Nobel Laureate Paul Crutzen, to signify the current geological period in the Earth's history, starting with the Industrial Revolution when human activities first began to have a significant global impact on the panet's climate and ecosystems.
